3 Birthdays, a Baptism, and some Holidays in between Part 1

Over the last few months things around the Jorgensen house have been a little crazy. We have been so busy with 3 birthdays, 1 baptism, and all the holidays in between. I am always glad when Janurary comes. I always feel like it is my time to breath and get my sanity together. It is the time I read more, craft , watch a movie, maybe even catch up on my list of to do’s. Here is a little (big) break down of all things we have done in the last few months.

We started all our celebrating with Avary’s birthday on Oct 28^th. We had so much fun on this day. We began with getting her 2 year old pictures done, went for a ride on the carousel horses at the mall, then we were off to our tradional tea party at So Cupcake. Then home to her favorite dinner, cake & ice cream, and of coarse she loved to open all her presents!

Halloween (sorry no pictures) All the kids had fun. Christian got invited to a costume dance the day before and dressed up as Indiana Jones. On that day we had a party with some of the kids friends. Then we went to our ward party and off to tricks or treats. Christian dressed up as a Fed Ex driver, Ethan – Percy Jackson, Zach – Indiana Jones, and Avary – a fairy princess (of coarse)!

Our Family Traditions ~

JANUARY ~ We love the Winter months! Every year we have our annual sledding party on News Years Day. Topped off with fresh donuts and gourmet hot cocoa.

FEBRUARY~ On Valentines Day we love to make heart shaped stuffed French toast and served with what else? Your choice of Gourmet hot chocolate, ya, were fancy that way!

MARCH ~ We always plan our family vacation during this time. Our favorite vacation spots are Disneyland, Disney World, visiting family in SoCal, and hitting the beaches!

APRIL ~ I love Easter! I love the opportunity it brings to teach my children about the Resurrection of Christ. I love to make resurrection rolls with the kids as we tell the story. When the rolls are done their centers are empty and hollow. Just like the tomb that Christ was in. We also have our annual family egg hunt with all the kids.

MAY ~ Ethan starts baseball and the next few months are filled with practices and games. Baseball is one of my favorite sports, it's all about going home and being safe!

JUNE ~ We love to spend time at the pool & go 2 or 3 times a week to soak up the sun. We also do various outings to keep the board um to a minimum since school is out.

JULY ~ Hal's b-day starts off this month, we all go out as a family to dinner and an activity of his choice. We always have our annual 4th of July BIG breakfast buffet. We will then go on a day trip to do things such as, go boating, the hot air balloon show, or the Provo days festival.

AUGUST ~ This is one of our busiest month. Amy's b-day, Christian's b-day, our Anniversary, and back to school are all this month! The kids get to decide what they want to do for dinner and every year they get an activity of their choice. Also Ethan and Zach start football and it's butt whoopin time!

SEPTEMBER ~ Fall is one of my favorite seasons! I love to decorate for the Fall! I feel more energized this time of year. This is when I start multiple new craft projects, bake more, and try new things. I now do most of my planning & list making for the rest of the year.

OCTOBER ~ Avary's b-day is this month just before Halloween. We started a new tradition of going to So Cupcake for a tea party. We also love to go up the canyon and take tin foil dinners, roast marshmallows, and play games.

NOVEMBER ~ Zach's b-day is right around Thanksgiving and sometimes on that day. Zach likes a wide variety of things so each year he chooses something different.

DECEMBER ~ As a family we love the Christmas Season. Each year we find a charity that we as a family donate to in one way or another. It's my way of teaching our kids that Christmas is more about giving than about receiving. They also love to help run all the neighbor gifts around and they can't wait till their done. Ethan's b-day is one week before Christmas. He too likes different things and plans his activity according to the weather.
